Wednesday May 5
As part of the Asheville Poetry Festival, Wordfest 2010, May 4-8
The Hawk and Ivy is proud to host:
A Poetry Workshop with Laura Hope-Gill, poet (The Soul Tree) and coordinator of Wordfest, and Jim Nave international creativity consultant, poet, and teacher.
"Explore your creativity with Laura Hope-Gill and James Nave who both skilled in opening up spaces where the psyche feels free to speak. Learn to listen to what your poems are saying and to expand upon their wisdom. This is about opening, not closing. About expanding, not narrowing. In this setting we encourage one another to write into what needs shaping, but not to exact form upon what desires to remain formless. Be in nature and be part of nature--create."
This workshop is a free offering by these two incredible people. Don’t miss it!
Wednesday, May 5, 2:30- 5:30 pm at the Hawk and Ivy B&B.
The workshop will be followed by:
A Potluck and Poetry Sharing open to all. From 6:00 pm and into the night.
Both the Workshop and the Poetry Sharing are free though generous donations are gratefully accepted.
Please reserve your space. Contact Hawk and Ivy at 828-626-3486 or info@hawkandivy.com

Dear Laura,
Wordfest 2008 was being within poetry as community, dialogue, coming into being, and a lasting experience. Cultural language and its depth is never abstract or fleeting but is always lasting and solid in the way that life is lasting, no matter what. That's what I like about Wordfest: it is lasting, no matter what.
All best,
Simon Ortiz
